Hello World

Welcome to the official EventSourcingDB blog – your source for announcements, articles, and insights. When we launched EventSourcingDB, our documentation was the place to learn how to install, configure, and operate the database. But we quickly realized that something was missing: a space for timely updates, context around new features, and deeper explanations that don't fit neatly into a reference manual.

That's what this blog is for. Here we'll share what's happening in and around EventSourcingDB – product news, behind-the-scenes insights, practical guidance, and stories from real-world usage. Our goal is to keep you informed and help you get the most out of event sourcing.

Looking back

EventSourcingDB has been publicly available since May 5th, 2025. Our first release, version 1.0, laid a stable foundation: a purpose-built event store with strong consistency, reliability, and ease of use at its core.

Just a few months later, we shipped version 1.1, building on that foundation with important new capabilities. Among the highlights:

  • Dynamic Consistency Boundaries – giving you more control over how consistency is enforced across aggregates.
  • EventQL Preconditions – adding fine-grained query safety for working with events.
  • Event Signatures – optional Ed25519 signatures for stronger integrity validation.

These features came directly from real-world needs – feedback from early adopters and production use helped us decide where to invest next.

To make learning and adoption easier, we also launched several companion sites:

  • cqrs.com – a practical introduction to CQRS and event-driven architecture.
  • eventsourcing.ai – exploring how event sourcing enables better data and smarter systems.
  • eventsourcingdatabase.com – a guide to choosing the right event sourcing database and understanding trade-offs.

Each site addresses a different perspective but connects back to EventSourcingDB. Together, they help developers discover the patterns behind the product.

Thank you

We're deeply grateful for everyone who's been part of this journey so far. First and foremost, our customers, who trusted EventSourcingDB early on, put it into production, and challenged us with real-world requirements. Your feedback and support shape where we go next.

And of course, the community – contributors, testers, and advocates who have given thoughtful input, shared ideas, and helped spread the word. Your enthusiasm pushes us to keep improving and to stay focused on building the right things.

What's next

We're already working on several exciting developments.

One of the biggest steps ahead is our fully managed cloud offering. Running EventSourcingDB yourself is straightforward, but many teams want a production-ready, operated service. That's why we've started a private beta for EventSourcingDB Cloud. If you're interested, reach out to us at hello@thenativeweb.io.

Another major investment is a new and significantly improved storage engine. Our goal is to increase performance and scalability even further while keeping the strong consistency guarantees that define EventSourcingDB. We'll share more details once we're ready to open it up for early testing.

Beyond these, we have a roadmap of features aimed at making event-driven systems easier to build and operate – but we prefer to talk about things once they're real. Expect updates here as they come to life.
